Experts to discuss ways countering hate speech, promoting ethics and safety of journalists
KATHMANDU/September 21 – Experts from wide ranging media development organizations will share their observations and insights on countering hate speech, promoting media ethics and safety of journalists during the inaugural session of conflict sensitive reporting and safety of journalists in South Asia workshop scheduled for September 27, 2021.

The inaugural session will be moderated by Ms. Priyanka Jha, Vice-Chairperson of Media Action Nepal.
The inaugural session on 27 September will be followed by three-day closed workshop sessions from 28-30 September, covering conflict sensitive journalism, journalist safety, and self-regulation. The workshop forms part of our wider “Code of Ethics to Improve Conflict Sensitive Reporting and Safety of Journalists in South Asia” project, organized by the Public Media Alliance (PMA) and Media Action Nepal (MAN), with the kind support of the UNESCO New Delhi Office & the UNESCO International Programme for the Development of Communication (IPDC).
