Amit Pyakurel has over 15 years of experience in communications, media rights advocacy, research, documentation and public information, having closely worked with a wide range of stakeholders and communities along with media organizations, civil society groups, national and international NGOs, development agencies, and international institutions in the fields related to media development, human rights, governance, social inclusion, and public engagement.
He possesses extensive experience in producing and refining news stories, reports, publications, and communication materials; conducting media and policy analysis; supporting stakeholder engagement; and knowledge management support. Besides, he has contributed articles, feature stories, and analytical pieces to national and international media outlets.
Amit is particularly experienced in advocacy for promoting freedom of expression, access to information, media professionalism, human rights, and meaningful public participation. He firmly believes that credible, accurate, and evidence-based journalism plays a significant role in strengthening democratic values, accountability, and inclusive development. He holds a Master’s degree in Media Technology and continues to support initiatives working to build informed, engaged, and inclusive societies.
