‘Young Media Fellows’ set to champion independent and inclusive journalism
KATHMANDU | August 6: Media Action Nepal is proud to announce the selection of seven outstanding young journalists as ‘Media Fellows’ for the upcoming Residential Training of Trainers (ToT) on media freedom, gender, and conflict-sensitive journalism, to be held from 19–20 August 2025 in Kathmandu.
These fellows were selected from a competitive pool of 20 young journalists who previously participated in the first phase of the residential training on “Countering Mis/Disinformation through Media Literacy and Inclusive Newsrooms.” Their innovative pitches and well-crafted engagement plans stood out, earning them the opportunity to take their leadership to the next level.
As part of the fellowship, the selected journalists will:
- Participate in an intensive residential ToT program
- Receive expert-led mentoring sessions
- Produce powerful media content to counter disinformation
Following the ToT and mentoring, the fellows will mentor and lead virtual training sessions for 70 young journalists across Nepal, further amplifying the impact of independent, inclusive, and ethical journalism.
This initiative is part of the Czech Republic-supported project “Strengthening Young Journalists to Counter Misinformation and Promote Inclusive Media in Nepal.”
Join us in congratulating these inspiring young journalists!
