Pant to be the keynote speaker at International Media Forum in Georgia
KATHMANDU/May 15 : Laxman Datt Pant, Chairperson of Media Action Nepal and Co-Chair of the Media Freedom Coalition-Consultative Network, will be the keynote speaker at the International Forum “Media and Democracy Resilience versus Corruption” on May 18, 2023 in Georgia.
As a key-note speaker, Pant will address an in-person and online global audience covering topics including the challenges faced by the independent media, investigative journalism and corruption, and the approaches to strengthening the watchdog role of the media across the world.
Organized by the Transparency International, Georgia in collaboration with Media Action Nepal, the Forum is featuring global media experts and advocates to discuss investigative journalism VS corruption, the challenges in the media environment: interference with journalistic activities and inadequate investigations and the freedom of expression and case law against journalists through three spate panels on these issues. The event is supported by the Ministry of the Foreign Affairs of Denmark through its International Development Cooperation (DANIDA).
