MAN executive member Mishra bags EU Human Rights Journalist Award 2023
KATHMANDU/ July 31: Aashish Kumar Mishra, the executive committee member of Media Action Nepal (MAN) has been awarded with the European Union (EU) Human Rights Journalist Award 2023 , for his impactful reporting about the historical marginalization of the Kapali community of Kathmandu Valley in the context of their housing.
Mishra, along with two other awardees will travel to Brussels this autumn to learn more on the EU human rights policies and reporting, and discuss with Brussels-based media and the EU institutions.
“We take immense pride in the achievement of one of our esteemed members,” shared Laxman Datt Pant, MAN Chairperson. Mishra, a reporter at the Rising Nepal English daily, has been amplifying the voices of the voiceless through his writings in art and culture, press freedom and human rights. In addition to assisting in media research activities, he looks after ‘youth, culture and media’ initiatives of the Media Action Nepal.
