KATHMANDU/March 13:  MEDIA ACTION NEPAL, established in 2015, is a non-governmental organization (NGO) promoting freedom of expression, press freedom and media development in Nepal through research, policy dialogue, advocacy and capacity-building of journalists. A member of the global press freedom and media development networks including the Media Freedom Coalition-Consultative Network (MFC-CN )the Global Forum for Media Development (GFMD) and the ACOS Alliance , Media Action Nepal advocates for the rights and safety of journalists as well as for inclusive newsrooms. Our evidence-backed interventions have earned us solid networks and partnerships nationally, regionally and globally.

Currently, we are looking for experts to contribute in our ongoing and future interventions/initiatives targeted to promote diverse, inclusive, independent and accountable media in Nepal:

As an expert, your role within the organization will encompass a dynamic array of responsibilities such as facilitating trainings, conducting comprehensive media research, developing training manuals and handbooks, crafting compelling proposals, editing reports for accuracy and clarity, and moderating sessions spanning across the country. Your expertise will be pivotal in advancing our mission to advocate for free, accountable, and diverse media in Nepal.

Successful candidates will be included in our ROSTER OF EXPERTS and will be contacted on a case-by-case basis as opportunities arise, ensuring that their skill sets align with the specific needs of our projects and initiatives. We value your contributions and look forward to collaborating with you to drive positive change in the media landscape of Nepal

We invite experts with the following expertise and qualifications:

  • Minimum Master’s degree in the related areas (Journalism, Human Rights, Law, Conflict Studies, Gender Studies, International Relations, Cyber Security etc)
  • Candidates must have a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in their respective fields
  • Proven facilitation skills for conducting engaging and impactful trainings
  • Strong background in media research, with the ability to conduct thorough and insightful analysis.
  • Experience in developing comprehensive training manuals and handbooks tailored to diverse audiences.
  • Proficiency in proposal writing, with a track record of securing funding for media-related projects.
  • Excellent editing abilities to ensure reports are polished and convey information effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to moderate sessions effectively, fostering productive dialogue and collaboration
