MAN launches television show to discuss development

Media Action Nepal (MAN) in collaboration with TV Today Television has started with the production and airing of a weekly talk show–POWERchat. The show is first of its type in Nepal. Aired via TV Today Television every Sunday at 8:30 pm with repeat telecast on Monday 8:00 am, the show brings prominent people -both individuals and institutions to discuss development efforts and challenges.

Hosted by Laxman Datt Pant, the show discusses key development challenges and ways to overcome the same focusing on range of issues including human rights, gender equality, empowerment, good-governance, foreign affairs, transparency, inclusive and participatory democracy, climate change, education, economic prosperity, freedom of expression, health and sanitation, policy and so forth.
The show is devoted to the world of development and economic prosperity.

Pant, a former UN programme specialist in media and freedom of expression started his career as a radio journalist two decades ago and worked with numerous media institutions in different capacities ranging from a reporter to an editor. Apart from hosting/producing the show, Pant leads Media Action Nepal (MAN) and contributes for Gorkhapatra daily as a columnist.
