
Call for Applications: Residential Training for Young Journalists

KATHMANDU | June 28: Media Action Nepal, under the Czech Republic-supported project “Strengthening Young Journalists to Counter Misinformation and Promote Inclusive Media in Nepal,” is organizing a residential training in Kathmandu on July 24–25, 2025.
- The training aims to equip 20 young journalists (including at least 10 women) with skills to counter misinformation, enhance digital literacy, and promote inclusive, conflict-sensitive, and gender-responsive journalism.
- Eligible applicants, those who have passed 12th grade, are between the ages of 18 and 30, and have at least one year of journalism experience, are invited to apply by July 15, 2025.
- Applications should include a cover letter, a short bio, and a published news story, and be sent to [email protected].
- Selected participants will receive full support, including travel and accommodation, along with a certificate of participation. They will also have the opportunity to engage in ongoing and future media development initiatives of Media Action Nepal.
- The top 7 journalists will also be selected for a Training of Trainers (ToT) program, receive a week-long mentorship from experts, a fellowship to produce an investigative story, and an opportunity to lead a knowledge-sharing webinar.
